Welcome to our practice website

111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.

About Us

We are an approved Training practice with all 4 of our Partners being Trainers – Dr Michael Merriman, Dr Mohan Segarajasinghe, Dr Gillian West & Dr Andrew Fisher.

Our practice ethos is that we are committed to providing first class primary care in a challenging environment. We are also committed to the ongoing development of individuals and teams.  We like to put patients first and we feel we are a warm and welcoming practice.

The practice values skill mix and our clinical team consists of four Partners, Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Pharmacists and Phlebotomist. We also house ARRS staff (Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme) – Mental Health Practitioners, Macmillan Navigator, Physiotherapists, Social Prescriber Link Workers and TAPP (Trainee Associate Psychological Practitioner).

The EMIS Web clinical system is used at the practice and we have achieved Paperlight Accreditation.

We hold regular Practice and Clinical Meetings and have allocated time set aside for Practice/Professional Development. We have a study based at the main surgery which holds the most essential of the ‘Registrar’ texts and journals/magazines. There is also internet access via NHS Wifi.

Both practices have iPads on the front desks to facilitate patients requiring language translation. Patients can simply speak into the iPad which will then translate the detected language (subject to language).

Non-urgent advice: Call-Back Service

This practice now offers a ‘Call-Back’ service following an upgrade to our telephone systems. From Wednesday 6th December you will hear a message which will tell you how to request a call back. However, you will still have the option to remain on the line if you need an urgent appointment.

Please note however, that if you ask for a call back, you will need to be available to answer your telephone as we are unable to make multiple calls. If you miss the call, you will need to call the surgery back.
