Appointments

Arrange an appointment, cancel, or book with an external service

AccuRx Triage

You can use AccuRx Triage to pre-book appointments for ROUTINE (NON-URGENT) problems with a clinician.

You don’t need the NHS App or Patient Access for this.

Just fill out the form, and we’ll contact you within 2 days to offer an appointment within 2 weeks.

If you want a morning or afternoon slot or a specific clinician, let us know. We’ll do our best to arrange it but this depends on availability.

If you need help with the form, call us on 0151 546 2480.

You can book these appointments by calling 0151 546 2480 from 8am on the day.

These appointments are only for ACUTE (URGENT) problems that need to be seen on the same day by our Advanced Nurse Practitioners or GP Trainees.

Any ongoing problems will need a pre-bookable appointment with the GP.

When these appointments are full, you’ll hear a message when you call us. You should call NHS 111 to be assessed in this case.

You can select “Admin query” in AccuRx Triage for ongoing sick note requests or general admin queries, etc.

Non-urgent advice: Cancel an Appointment

Did Not Attends cost the NHS around £30 per appointment. For 2022 this amounted to an estimate of £421 million across the UK. There are various ways your appointment can be cancelled if you no longer require it such as:

– Texting “CANCEL” to your appointment reminder message
– Cancelling via NHS App / Patient Access
– Informing Reception via telephone or front desk

Appointments must be cancelled at least 1 hour in advance, so that the appointment may be given to another patient.

It is practice policy that if any appointment is not attended on more than 3 occasions, the patient will be struck off from the practice register.

Non-urgent advice: Help when we are closed

If you require medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

In the event of a medical or mental health emergency, you should call 999. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Home Visits

We understand it’s not always possible for patients to attend the surgery. If you need a doctor to visit your home, please call us before 11:00am.

You should only ask for a doctor to visit your house if you’re housebound. The doctor will decide if they need to visit and how quickly. Please be ready to tell Reception why you need a visit.

A nurse from the community might also visit you at home if the GP refers you. If you’ve just had a baby or if you’re new to the GP surgery and have a child under five, a health visitor might also come to see you at home.

Training Practice

Medical Students

We are a teaching practice, so when you see one of our clinicians, there might be a student sitting in for learning. We’ll always let you know if this is going to happen, but if you don’t want the student there, just tell Reception at the front desk.

GP Registrars

We have other doctors called GP registrars & Foundation Year 2 GPs (F2s) here. They’re fully qualified doctors who have finished their training, but are still learning more about being a GP. They’ll look after you just the same as our regular doctors.
