Our GPs manage patients with ongoing/complex conditions booked through the AccuRx Triage as a routine appointment within 2 weeks.
Trainee GPs

As we are a training practice, we regularly have a rotation of Junior Doctors (GP Trainees) in various stages of their training (Foundation Year 2 & Speciality Training Year 1, 2 & 3).

Our Junior Doctors generally deal with acute, on the day issues with some follow up slots.  These appointments are bookable on the day via telephone or in person.

Our Practice Nurses deal with all chronic disease management.  They also carry out all of our vaccinations and immunisations (including childhood immunisations) as well as administering travel vaccinations, they carry out cervical screening tests and contraception reviews as well as health and lifestyle promotion.

The Reception Team are the first point of contact with the practice and are there to help and assist patients for: any general queries, processing prescription requests, arranging appointments and the general day-to-day running of the Reception area. In order to book patients with the most appropriate clinician, our Receptionists may ask you to provide a reason for the appointment. This is simply to avoid inconvenience by booking you with a clinician that is unable to deal with your problem; any information given to our Receptionists or any other member of the team is treated in the strictest confidence.

The Administration Team are responsible for managing all aspects of outgoing referrals within the practice and any general administration queries, as well as provide cover to Reception as and when required.

The Clinical Information Administration Team are responsible for managing, filing and coding all incoming clinical correspondence from various hospitals/clinics and directing letters to the most appropriate clinician, as well as provide cover to Reception as and when required.

The Nursing Administration Team are responsible for arranging all aspects of planned care with our Nursing Team within the practice, such as booking patients in for: Smears, Chronic Disease Management, Childhood Immunisations, Seasonal Vaccinations, etc. as well as provide cover to Reception as and when required.

The Registrations Administration Team are responsible for actioning the administrative processes involved in the registration of new patients to the practice, managing all incoming and outgoing medical records for patients joining or leaving the practice, as well as provide cover to Reception as and when required.

First Contact Physiotherapist

Our FCP can be booked into directly from Reception without the need for a clinician review beforehand. FCPs can help support, manage and treat patients with musculoskeletal issues by providing them with plans, medication and even a referral to hospital clinics for further investigations if appropriate.

Mental Health Practitioners

Our MHPs can support patients who are struggling with low level mental health issues such as generalised anxiety or low mood.

Associate Psychological Practitioner (APP)

Our APP can support patients in managing their diabetes mellitus, weight management and low level mental health issues with ongoing sessions of support.

Our SPLW’s carry out an assessment of need and refer/link patients with various organisations who can support them in a particular area i.e debt advice, housing support, employment support etc.  Both clinical and non-clinical staff can refer to an SPLW at the patients request.

Macmillan Cancer Link Worker

Our MCLW supports all patients with a diagnosis of cancer to ensure their needs are being met.  They can refer/link the patient with other organisations who can offer support, advice and guidance during this time.

Peri-Natal Link Worker

Our PNLW can support all pregnant ladies and new mums (child up to 1 years old) in a similar way to the SPLW and refer/link the patient in with relevant organisations for support, advice and guidance.
